Holding an event at work provides a great opportunity for team building and inspiring people. Some ideas are highlighted below. Do get in touch with us if you would like to discuss any of these events in more detail.
National Bike Week
Of course every day is a good opportunity to promote cycling but during National Bike Week (usually in June) extra emphasis is given to highlight cycling as a useful form of everyday transport. However big or small your event, you too can become an organiser and take advantage of free support and advice to help you make your event a success, and be part of a nationwide event. Registration for Team Green Britain Bike Week opens in the beginning of 2012. Please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Devon Car Free Day
Devon Car Free Day is part of a bigger campaign, called In Town Without My Car Day, which is celebrated across the world on 22nd September. Devon County Council’s Sustainable Travel team are encouraging all Devon residents to leave their car at home on this day and travel in ways that are good for the environment (and for your health!).
Regular Staff Bike Rides
Staff bike rides could be an excellent opportunity to familiarize your employees with the cycle routes in your area. It is also a good opportunity for staff to get to know each other in a different environment. For staff who don’t have bikes at work, consider booking pool bikes for this activity.
Dr Bike Clinic
Contact your local bike shop to arrange for a bike mechanic from a local bike shop to perform free check-ups on your employees’ bikes.
Biker’s breakfast
Offer a free healthy breakfast to everyone who cycles in to work – it doesn’t have to cost much and can be a lot of fun!
