The Department for Transport says that “Devon County Council is a provider of high quality cycling instructor training” and officially recognises us as an Instructor Training Organisation . We have been a recognised provider of high quality Bikeability instructors since 2008. The instructors have taught thousands of children, across England, to ride safely and inspire them to cycle more.
All Bikeability instructors must be a member of a registered ITO to be able to deliver Bikeability training. You can join as many ITOs as you wish but we would like ours to be one of them!
All scheme organisers must ensure that the instructors they use belong to an Instructor Training Organisation.
Those who utilise the services of an instructor should ask with which ITO the instructor is registered, check for proof of identity, insurance, CRB and for other relevant qualifications deemed necessary.
Every ITO provides a ‘verification service’ to the public, who may ask for details of an instructor’s credentials.
All National Standard Instructors can join our scheme free of charge. Members will be offered continued professional development, communications about the National Standard and cycling events in Devon.
We reserve the right to reject applications or cancel membership. Terms and conditions of membership may change and members will be contacted in advance.
If you wish to leave our ITO please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with UNSUNSCRIBE ITO in the subject heading
