We have been a recognised provider of high quality Bikeability instructors since 2008. The instructors have taught thousands of children, across England, to ride safely and inspire them to cycle more.

Devon County Council Volunteer Instructor courses and NON National Standard training
Over the years the demand for non-Bikeability instructor courses and training has significantly reduced and Devon County Council are no longer running the free one day cycle instructor courses and from 1st April 2012 will not be supporting the older system of cycle training.
These courses, which were branded as "Devon Bikeability" were of an extremely high standard and based on Bikeability outcomes and we thank all instructors who have volunteered to work in Devon. .
Since 2006, the National Standard for Cycle Training (Bikeability) has been the high standard set by the Government and over 15,000 children in Devon have received Bikeability training and official Bikeability certificates and badges. This has often been delivered by local people who have successfully passed a nationally recognised four day Bikeability instructor course and a follow up Post Course Assessment.
Devon has been a Bikeability instructor centre since 2008 and has now been re-accredited as one of only 18 Instructor Training Organisations in the country, recognised by the Department for Transport, and we have trained over 100 people to be Bikeability instructors.
Additionally, each year Devon has successfully bid and been awarded funds from the Government to deliver Bikeability Level 2 training to Devon children and only accredited Bikeability instructors can deliver Bikeability training. In the 2011/12 financial year we have secured funding of £240,000 to train up to 6,000 Devon children.
